Do I need an allocation profile to show data in PBI?

Hey there,

one question is in my mind since I'm testing the MSM. If I ingested data, set up emissions factor, a model and run the calculation. DO I always need an additional allocation profile to see my data in the PBI Report? From what I understand is, that I need an allocation profile, if i want to split my data, lets say into the rooms of my office. But when I delete the allocation profile /Organization/ which i created for test purposes, the analysis wont show up... The documentation is not really clear for me here.

Do I need an allocation profile to show data in PBI?

No, you do not need an allocation profile to visualize and analyze your activity/emissions data in the out of the box Power BI dashboards.

The allocation profiles would only in fact impact the "Allocations" page in the Power BI report.

You do want to have organization units though, as well as reporting years, defined, as per the onboarding guide.

If you are not seeing the data, let me know and share your organization ID, or created a Microsoft support ticket. Do note it takes a little bit of time between when you add data to the system and when it shows up in the reports
